Swedes
Often confused with the turnip the swede has a deliciously earthy flavour which is wonderful in soups and stews.
Try peeling it, chopping into chunks and and roasting alongside other root vegetables, butternut squash and garlic. Once everything is cooked put it in a pan with some chicken or vegetable stock and blend to create a wonderful winter vegetable soup.
