Red Delicious Apple
With its beautiful crimson skin the Red Delicious is an apple that is pleasing on the eye.
The flesh does not hold up well to cooking for use in pies however given its tendency to break down when slowly cooked is ideal for use in sauces and purees.
The best way to enjoy this apple is to serve it as a component of a fruit salad mixed with sweeter fruits to help compliment its more mellow flavour.
