Lettuce Lambs Tongue

Available all year but at its peak during the lambing season in spring Lambs Tongue lettuce takes its name from its leaves resembling a lambs tongue in size and shape.

The deep green velvety textured leaves have a tangy and nutty flavour which pairs well with a large variety of ingredients. A great way to serve Lambs Tongue lettuce is with fried peppers and chicken, towards the end of cooking add some honey and chilli flakes to the pan with the chicken and peppers and then mix through the leaves to warm them through for a delicious hot salad.
