Leeks
A solid and hardy vegetable the leek has the sweetest mildest flavour of all the members of the onion family. Leeks have a crisp and crunchy texture when raw which softens when cooked. The mild and earthy taste of the leek coupled with its soft texture when cooked makes it ideal for use in soups and stews. Simply fried in a little olive oil and butter will transform the leek into a deliciously soft, sweet and nutty side dish, perfect for serving alongside roasted pork.
