A unique and interesting product, the Banana Leaf is incredibly versatile and unusual. Most commonly use as a means of wrapping food in Caribbean, Indonesian and Filipino cuisine, fish and spices are often wrapped in a leaf and steamed which allows the banana leaf to impart a sweet and delicate flavour. The leaf can also be used in the cooking of desserts, try marinading mango in dark rum then wrapping it in a banana leaf and cooking on a barbecue. Then to serve simply open up the parcel and dig in.
