Tomato on the Vine
Tomatoes on the vine are allowed to ripen naturally and as such develop a sweeter taste, softer texture and deeper red colour. These tomatoes also have a more distinctive aroma; this is actually down to the vine the tomatoes are on which gives off a stronger smell of tomato than the fruit themselves. Tomatoes on the vine are simple to cook and look attractive on the plate, simply roasted in a little olive oil and salt with some garlic. Alternatively they are also great in salads, salsa or sauces. These tasty and versatile tomatoes are in season all year round.
