Shallots
Smaller and sweeter than onions the shallot is used in a variety of sauces and as a means to add sweetness to soups and stews.
The smaller and more delicate shallot is a great way to impart a subtle flavour to a dish. Simply thinly slicing the shallot and separating the rings within each slice before mixing into a salad is a wonderful way to serve them raw.
