Lettuce Iceberg
One of the more traditionally and readily available lettuces, Iceberg gets its unique crispness from having a higher water content than other lettuces.
This crunchiness is what makes Iceberg lettuce so superb on burgers and explains why it has been a staple in salads. A great use for Iceberg lettuce is to serve it with diced chicken and a simple dressing made from olive oil, dried herbs and cider vinegar. The acidity of the dressing and sweetness of the chicken compliments the crunch of the lettuce perfectly.
