Harvest Northwest
Sharrocks have been working closely with the Lancashire Growers since 1949 so
locally procured produce is no sales gimmick for us !
Here a just a few :
-
David Rimmer Fresh asparagus from the Formby dunes. A short season
but wow the flavour is fantastic.
Bill Vose and family Bill has been
growing Lancashire early potatoes since time began ! His wonderful Maris Bard are
grown using traditional methods and he still uses cow muck as fertiliser !
Willington Fruit Farm Alright.. I know its in Cheshire but John Winsor
has been a friend of sharrocks for many moons and his products are fantastic -
these include a full range of historic English Apples (Melrose, Red Pippin etc ,
Gooseberries, Strawberries and Raspberries.
Southport Samphire
We work closely with several inhabitants of the Banks and Southport Sand flats -
during the season they bring daily gatherings of this wonderful product.
Pete Ascroft (Mere Brow) Pete is another good friend
and is a fantastic grower of Lancashire Cauliflowers, but it doesn't stop there !
he's also renowned for his Golden Beetroot, Candy Beetroot and Red cabbage.
Pete Coxhead We like Pete ( and his perma-tan !)and his products !
Lettuce is Peters forte whether it be Iceberg, Sweet Romaine, and Little Gem..
Oh and his leeks from off Farrington Moss aren't half bad either
